Sharing Know-How
Many of the challenges we each face are common to others in our village, as posts on the village WhatsApp ‘Forum’ confirm. Often the skill needed is best provided by a professional; at other times it is enough that one person can share their know-how.
There’s a wealth of experience and practical knowledge in Betchworth which we aim to share by organising teach-ins and know-how sessions, bringing in professionals to guide us when needed.
We have organised:
Skill-based workshops on:
-
apple tree pruning
-
birdbox construction
-
scything and
-
building hedgehog feeding stations
Zoom briefings with guest speakers on:
-
garden and domestic water management,
-
soil quality
-
climate change
-
heat pumps.
For children, we've set up the Forest School.
And we've collated:
-
The resources on this website
-
Nature-based podcasts on our Youtube channel
-
Information-rich magazine articles and occasional reports
